The Arctic is an interesting place for 2nd grade students, that rarely get to see snow, to study. In this unit, my second graders will focus their attention on the animals of the Arctic. We will also discuss other Arctic facts but it will not be the main focus. In this unit, the student will create an "Arctic Animal Book." The teacher will use web videos and podcasts to introduce the new animals. Facts about the animals will be displayed on powerpoint. Each book will have seven animals. The seventh animal will be chosen by the student. The student will find information needed using websites, encyclopedias, and books.
